The visitors South Africa finally managed to pull off a victory by 90 runs in the last match of the three match ODI series held in Ahmedabad. South Africa who batted first on a slow batting wicket, managed to put 365 runs for the loss of 2 wickets which included a two brilliant century knock by Kallis and AB de Villiers. Earlier Hashim Amla and Loots Bosman added 113 runs for the opening wicket partnership with Bosman going after the Indian bowling attack as he scored 68 runs in just 46 balls before being got out to Pathan trying to hit a six only to fall safe in hands of debutant Vijay. Then Amla and fell to Jadeja when he reached 87 runs. Then it was the show of two outstanding South African batsmen Kallis (104 of 94 balls) and AB de Villiers (102 of 59 balls) as they took the game away from the Indian batsmen and managed to put on 173 * runs partnership for the third wicket and helped their team post a mammoth 365 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of their full overs.
Indian who went onto chase dint get a good start as Karthik and Vijay fell soon at regular intervals. Only little partnership came from the hands of Sharma and Kohli as they both added 95 runs stand for the third wicket before Sharma being dismissed by Botha. Then Indian batsmen again went into the shell as they kept throwing their wicket at crucial times. Finally Indian team went dismissed for 275 runs in 44.3 overs. Virat Kohli top scored for the Indian team with 57 runs. For South Africa, Dale Steyn and Tsotsobe shared three wickets each. AB de Villiers was declared man of the match for his knock of 102 of 59 balls. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was declared man of the series. Captain Dhoni lifted the MIcromax mobile cup after clinching 2-1 victory and retained the number two spot in ODI cricket.
