Now with experienced players Gambhir, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Yuvraj was not in the Indian side due to injury Harbhajan Singh was out of the series due to his personal reasons, another blow to the Indian team has occurred in the form of strike batsmen Virender Sehwag. Sehwag, while his knock of 46 runs against South African in the first ODI of the three match series got a back sore and he clearly seemed to be uncomfortable in the match. Due to his injury concerns, Abisekh Nayar was named in cover of him for the second ODI. However the board has announced that the injury concern for Sehwag was not that much a worrying factor and there is more chance of Sehwag participating in the second ODI to be held in Gwalior.
In the mean time, Yuvraj Singh went to Australia for a treatment in his ligament tear in the left wrist which occurred during the test series held in Bangladesh.
